HERMANN ARMIN KERN (Hungarian, 1839-1912) THE FRUIT VENDOR. Oil on canvas interior scene shows an older gentleman seated in an interior setting wearing a gray jacket and blue apron. He has a basket of fruit in his lap and assorted melons and fruit are on a table beside him. The interior has two windows with jars and bottles. Signed lower left “Kern H”. Housed in a period gesso decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 16-3/4″ x 20-3/4″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-92812 (5,000-6,000)
