WILLIAM CALLCOTT KNELL (British, -1879) “FISHING OFF GREAT YARMOUTH”. Fine large oil on canvas shipping scene shows fishing sailboats next to small rowboat with three men tending nets. Choppy green ocean. Several larger ships are seen behind. Sun rises showing a detailed blue and yellow sky. Yarmouth is seen with detailed buildings and large wall. Signed lower left and dated 1871. Housed in its original outstanding gesso decorated 8” wide frame with gold liner having artist’s name. PROVENANCE: Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Hawaii. SIZE: 32” x 52”.
