NEW HAMPSHIRE ISSUED SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1842 MUSKET. CAL. 69. 42” rnd bbl, dated 1851 on the tail of the lock and on the bbl tang. “NEW HAMPSHIRE” is stamped on top of the bbl. No cartouche is visible but an issue number 16 has been stamped in that area. The period sling is unmarked. CONDITION: Gray patina overall with moderate to heavy pitting around the breech. Wood has normal handling marks. Action is fine. 4-52822 FS137 (1,500-2,500)
