OUTSTANDING CASED TRAVELING GLASS STEMWARE SET. Metal label “The Alexander Clark Co. Ltd Goldsmiths & Silversmiths, London”. This traveling case was obviously something for an Aristocrat or very wealthy traveler. One could imagine this being used in an African safari or a trip down the Amazon. It represents the desired luxury of a world traveler. Large camphor wood and mahogany case has hinged lid having inset brass plaque with crown. Fitted with two brass recessed handles and four brass strap mounts. Front of case has English type family crest. The box is fitted with a removable top compartment which is green felt lined and segmented. It contains six 3-1/2” glass tumblers, six 4” wines, six 4-1/” wines, six 4-1/2” tumblers with etched design, six 4-1/4” tumblers with cut design, six 3-1/2” tumblers, twelve 4” deep wines, ten 2-1/2” wine shaped shot glasses, one 4-1/4” h x 5-1/4” w metal box. Each glass is wrapped in its own felt bag. Bottom compartment has ten 5-1/2” h large tumblers, eight large 5” wine glasses, 6” decanter, two 5-1/2” decanters, a large 6” x 12-1/2” metal box and a 5-1/2” x 8” box. Each glass is wrapped in its own green felt bag. No key is present. SIZE: Case is 13” h x 28-1/4” w x 23-1/4” d. CONDITION: Interior pieces in very good condition.
