GEORGE FRANK HIGGINS (American, 1850-1885) SUMMER FIELDS. Oil on canvas panoramic scene shows large grass covered fields with woodland edges and a farm with village in distance. The farmhouse having a windmill. There are eleven cows in the foreground with green and flower covered field with water. Beyond is a yellow field with two farmers haying and large haystack. All under a blue and white cloud sky. Signed lower left “G F Higgins”. Housed in a fine 19th Century style gesso decorated gilt frame with leaf corners. SIZE: 12” x 20”. CONDITION: Wax relining, craquelure, restored with inpainting. Very good. 9-73514 (3,000-5,000)
