RARE LARGE SIZE FOLK ART WOOL BED RUG FROM THE VOTER FAMILY, NEW VINEYARD, MAINE. Central area having fifteen 12-3/4” squares showing a large five tiered multi-color flower surrounded by leaves in sets of three, some having a stem. Flower colors include red with blue, red with dark brown and red with green. Background is a dark brown. The flower has five rings of alternating colored petals. Outside border with a grayish brown background has corner red flowers with green leaves with trailing vines of small red flowers and red berries. Outside with a round scallop border in dark brown fabric. Appears to be made in all wool with some original piecing present. An old tag to one corner “Great Grandmother Abigail Voter”. A rare and possibly unique example. SIZE: 84” x 58”. CONDITION: Good with some small holes and fading. 9-29163 (2000-3000)
