NORMAN ROCKWELL (American, 1894-1978) SKETCH FOR “THE PHARMACIST”. Unsigned sketch is on brown paper which has been glued down to a light board. It shows a pharmacist with pencil behind ear filling a clear bottle with a measuring beaker. Behind him is his University diploma. The “Pharmacist” was the front cover illustration for the Saturday Evening Post March 18th, 1939. SIZE: 17″ x 19-3/4″. CONDITION: Laid down, having what appears to be several tears, one starting at the bottom of the vest and going up through arm. A slice off the top left corner and damage to left corner and upper right corner. Other small tears but generally intact. It has been hinge mounted to a matte and housed in a modern black and gold frame. 9-92646 (10,000-15,000)
