SIGNED (American, First half of the 20th Century) “ROAD THROUGH THE WOODS”. Oil on canvas scene shows a grass covered road leading through tall trees with clearing beyond. Outstanding use of sunlit patches. Signed lower right what appears to be T. or F. Hallener or Hollener. Housed in a fine gilt gesso decorated fancy frame. Frame carries a Colonial Art Company label and the canvas is numbered 133. SIZE: 29” x 39”. CONDITION: Dirty, would brighten up greatly under cleaning. Otherwise very good. 9-27756 (3000-5000)
