EARLY DUTCH FLINTLOCK MUSKET. NSN. 80 Cal. 45-1/2” rnd bbl. 6-1/2” beveled lockplate is unmarked. externally. Frizzen has no bridle. The interior of the lock is marked with a stylized Fleur-de-Lis. The sideplate also has beveled edges. The tang of the buttplate extends almost the full length of the comb. There is raised carving around the lockplate and sideplate as well as the bbl tang. There is a slight swell on the forearm at the tailpipe. CONDITION: Brown patina with light pitting ranging to moderate at the breech of the bbl. Light pitting on the lock. Triggerguard has an almost black patina, but the rest of the brass is mellow. Sling swivels are intact. Minor chips missing around the lockplate with some repairs in that same area. Sliver missing on the forearm. Mechanically fine. 4-60241 FS738 (2,500-3,500)
