INTERESTING SHIP’S MAHOGANY LAVATORY CABINET. The vertical cabinet in solid mahogany has a drop down shelf that holds and has an antique white ironstone basin. The basin in filled from a spigot that gets its water from a reservoir hidden behind a raised panel front. The reservoir is accessed by a small trapdoor on the shelf. Above are two small drawers, one of which has an inscription on the bottom “Castalean Allen Sene George Baker” and script signed “Ezra M. Jeffry (?)”. Above which there is a shelf with three holes for wash set, a solid back top section with spot for towel roll which is not present. When finished using the basin you would fold it back into the cabinet and the water would flow down into a receptacle in bottom section which has a raised panel door.
