OUTSTANDING PAIR OF ANTIQUE POLYCHROME CARVED WOOD ALTER FIGURES. The two figures (a right and a left) show a young boy kneeling with a spiral column pricket candlestick resting on knee and held firmly in one hand. The other hand holds upright scroll banner, which has black writing partially illegible. The boy wears a red robe with gold trim and a front head crown. The bases are cut corner rectangular and are decorated in red and gold. Probably European. 18th or 19th Century. PROVENANCE: Found in a fine Bridgeton, Maine home. SIZE: Figures are 17” h. Total is 24-1/2” h. 12” w x 6” d. CONDITION: Sine expected wear and flaking but generally very good. 9-25112 (1,500-2,500)
