SHARPS BERDAN CIVIL WAR RIFLE. Cal. 52. SN: 56097. 30” rnd bbl. The “JT” cartouche on the left side of the stock is partially readable. This rifle is equipped with dbl set triggers and is at the high end of the range for a Berdan issued gun. Standard New Model 1859 markings on the bbl, receiver and lockplate. CONDITION: Blue/brown patina on the bbl. Casehardening on the frame has mostly silvered out and is mixed with light rust spotting. Wood has light handling marks with some chips along the forearm.
