AMES JENKS NAVAL CARBINE. Cal. 54. SN 11/7. 24” part octagonal bbl, marked “Wm JENKS / N.E. AMES / SPRINGFIELD / MASS” on the lockplate and “Wm JENKS / USN / RC / P / 1845” on the top bbl flat. No visible cartouche. The loading cut out is round. CONDITION: Moderate pitting overall. Wood is missing chips around the lock and is battered elsewhere. Action is good. 4-52494 FS18 (1,000-2,000)
