OUTSTANDING CARVED AND PAINTED WOOD CIGAR STORE INDIAN. Attributed to Samuel Anderson Robb 1851-1928. Chief figure has green, red and white headdress. Red and gold outfit and carries brown and green items in hand. Black framed wood base. PROVENANCE: Letter accompanies Indian stating it was part of the Schulte Cigar Store Collection. A small chain store that operated in New York City up until the early 1940’s. SIZE: Figure without base is 59” h; with base is 73” h. CONDITION: Some chips on surface, one repair to end of feather.
