ANTONIO NICOLO GASPARO JACOBSEN (American, 1850-1921) PORTRAIT OF THE STEAMSHIP JEFFERSON. Oil on board ship portrait shows a black hulled, white deck, single stack ship sailing right to left. The name emblazoned on the bow above pilot house and on the ship’s banner flag. A company flag flies with “O.D.” (Old Dominion Line). Signed lower right “A. Jacobsen 1914”. Housed in a modern gilt and black molded wood frame. SIZE: 15-1/2” x 27-1/2”. CONDITION: There are two 1” gouges in top boarder, areas of thin paint and paint loss which is typical of unrestored Jacobsen paintings. Appears to have no restoration. 9-27454 (5,000-7,000)
