*WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-70 SN 142545 Standard carbine with 22” bbl, full magazine, homemade brass blade square base front sight and short carbine ladder rear sight. It has a very early Lyman tang sight with small diameter shank that has spiral knurling, not for this model rifle. The receiver has a stud in the left side, missing the ring. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and smooth steel carbine buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains about 50% of original blue, mostly in sheltered areas. Magazine tube retains about 95% original blue and the receiver 30-40% original blue with the balance a light patina. Wood is sound with usual light handling and use marks and has a fine hand-worn patina. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore, frosty in the grooves. 4-52432 JR222 (6,000-10,000)
