UNSIGNED (American, First half of the 20th Century) INDUSTRIAL CITYSCAPE. Unsigned oil on wood paneling shows a colorful industrial city with many smoke stacks and buildings, oil tanks and warehouses in the foreground with many buildings and a water tower in the background. These are all rendered in vibrant colors. The sky is seen in a pallet of purple, aqua and white displaying plumes of smoke billowing from the smoke stacks. The colors are reminiscent of a Theodore Earl Butler pallet. Found in the mid-west. Housed in a carved gilt period frame. The panel has no markings except in the upper left corner “471”. SIZE: 32-1/4” x 36”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-26622 (2,000-3,000)
