RARE AND OUTSTANDING ANTIQUE FOUR-PIECE PAINTED PALM FROND PARLOR SET. Set consisting of: Small settee, corner chair, armchair and ottoman. All in light green paint with craquelure and alligatored finish and upholstered in a replaced green velvet which is as is. Corner chair has a pencil inscription on the underside of the corner seat “For Marguerite and Manca Pafia 1899”. Described as follows: 1) Small settee has ten palm frond vertical slat back with four on each side supporting a curving frond as arm. The front with applied frond pieces which continue through the side in between the slats. Frond extended legs have X-frond supports. SIZE: 27” h x 24” d x 42” w x 15” seat h. 2) Armchair of similar construction but with the addition of two white deer antlers as arms. SIZE: 29-1/2” h x 22-1/2” at widest x 16” d x 15-1/2” seat h. 3) Corner or end chair with same construction with one frond arm and an opening on the other side. SIZE: 35” h x 18” w x 16” d x 15-1/2” seat h. 4) Ottoman of similar construction with an over upholstered top. SIZE: 15” h x 19” w x 16” d. CONDITION: Overall very good with a wonderful original paint surface. Some minor chips to palm fronds. 9-29151 (4500-6500)
