RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 50-100-450 SN 101639 Standard carbine with case colored receiver in a rare caliber. It has 22” bbl with full magazine, Sheared square base front sight with short carbine ladder rear sight and a stud and ring in the left side of the receiver. It has uncheckered wood, straight stock and smooth carbine buttplate. Accompanied by an extremely rare box of Winchester 50-100-450 ammunition. The box is 2-pc with blue top and side labels with small end label, all with black lettering and pictures a cartridge on the side label. The box contains 4 original rounds and 14 reloads of original brass. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 95-97% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains 85-90% original case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas. Sides have 60-70% brilliant colors with the balance fading. Top and bottom of receiver are fading to gray with traces of bright colors. Lever retains 50-60% dark case colors and the hammer about 90%. Buttplate retains 15-20% case colors, speckled with light rust. Wood is sound, missing a chip at the heel and with some gouges on the forearm and right side of the buttstock, otherwise retains 85-95% original finish. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bore. The box is worn with frayed and broken edges and staining on the top. The bottom is taped and overall moderately soiled.
