*WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 SPECIAL ORDER TAKE DOWN RIFLE. Cal. 40-65. SN 132179 Standard grade rifle with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, ivory bead Beach’s front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It is fitted with close couple dbl set triggers and has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent buttplate. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle including set trigger and indicating a shipment on May 10, 1905. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 96-98% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains 95-97% original blue, thin on the bottom with sharp edge wear. Wood is sound and retains most of its original factory finish. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bore. 4-52416 JR223 (4,500-7,500)
