CANE: OUTSTANDING CARVED AND PAINTED FOLK ART SNAKE CANE. Unusual cane has three spiraling red and green snakes on shaft, each with copper bead eyes. The end is a carved dagger with cross hatch type handle with a black rubber end. Top handle is a curved snake section with head having bead eyes and end terminating in a carved face having bead eyes and painted a deep red. On top of snake is what appears to be a carved monkey type face with bead eyes. On side of shaft, below snake, is another carved face which protrudes from the shaft. The cane is painted in an old green and red with an alligatored finish. SIZE: 36” l. CONDITION: Repair to snake head, otherwise very good. 9-97039 (2,000-4,000)
