GUY CARLETON WIGGINS (American, 1883-1962) “WASHINGTON SQUARE”. Oil on canvas scene shows Washington Square in New York City during a snow storm. The ground is snow covered with snow falling. A number of pedestrians are seen along with cars and buses. An archway entrance is seen against multi-story buildings. Three American flags flying off buildings. Signed lower left “Guy Wiggins N.A.”. Housed in an antique gesso decorated frame with fancy flower decorated liner. Title and artist signature on reverse. Also a Louis Katz Art Galleries stamp affixed to stretcher. SIZE: 18″ x 24″.
