CARLETON E. WATKINS (1829-1916)/ISAIAH W. TABER (1830-1912) “OHIO” AND “SELECTION OF THE GRIZZLY GIANT”. Outstanding and rare Mammoth albumen prints. One side shows an early photograph of an enormous tree with man standing in the front with his gun. Taber’s credit and title in the negative “Taber Photo., San Francisco”. and “111. Section of the “Grizzly Giant”, 33 feet diameter, Mariposa Grove, Cal.”. The other side shows another large tree with log cabin beside. Taber’s credit and titled in the negative “107 “Ohio,” 28 feet diameters, Mariposa Grove, Cal.” Both mounted back to back against the same board with white matte. SIZE: Image: 15-1/4″ x 20-1/4″.
