TIFFANY MARBLE & MOSAIC GLASS PULPIT. Spectacular Pulpit is made of green and white marble with applied gilt plaster decoration inset with Tiffany mosaic glass, Heavy marble book platform is carved around the edges and supported by a magnificent pedestal with top completely encrusted with Tiffany mosaic glass. Pulpit is inscribed “IN LOVING MEMORY OF REV. JAMES HENRY CHAPIN PHD PASTOR FROM 1873 TO 1885 DIED MARCH 14 1892 ERECTED BY HIS WIFE KATE LEWIS CHAPIN” in marble. Pulpit is listed in Alastair Duncan’s book “Tiffany Windows” on page 209 and came directly out of St. Paul’s Universalist Church in Meriden, CT. CONDITION: Pulpit has been dismantled and will need to be reassembled for permanent display. Some cracked marble panels and some minor wear and light chipping to plaster gilt.
