A PAIR OF HALF PLATE AMBROTYPES OF GAMBLERS (Circa mid 19th C.). Pair of most interesting & humorous images both depicting the same Western gamblers seated at a table with a bottle of whiskey and each brandishing a hand of cards. In the first image, one gambler is heavy set with a vest; the other is a one-eyed gambler (1 eye is A glass eye) also in a vest. Note: gold watch chain & colors in cards have been highlighted. In one image one appears happy the other disgruntled. In the other image the opposite character appears unhappy & the former, happy, obviously related to the poker hands they display. Framed in a gold colored matt & set in a black composition frames. SIZE: Approximately 6″ x 4-3/4″ including frame. CONDITION: Some scattered spotting in both pictures with toning along the edges.
