ANTIQUE WOOD MODEL FOR A HORSE DRAWN SNOW PLOW. This model was used as the basis for making a full scale snow plow for use in Rochester, NY. The plow was made and after its initial use was found to be too heavy and cumbersome for practical use. It sat dormant in Rochester until it was dismantled and thrown away. The only evidence of its manufacture is this fine well crafted model. The model in a wonderful old patina shows evidence of being ahead of its time. It had adjustable side wings for snow removal, metal tipped wood blades, pointed front. It was even fitted with a brake mechanism, which was operated by two levers, which pushed a piece of wood down that it not present. SIZE: Total length is 32” x 15” w.
