WEDGWOOD LUSTRE BOWL. Magnificent Wedgwood Coral & Bronze Fairyland Lustre bowl has exterior decoration in the Willow pattern against a brilliant gold lustre background. Pattern is highlighted with orange enameling. Interior of bowl has Willow pattern design in bottom against light blue background. The remainder of the interior background is opal with blue and gold willow pattern trim encircling the inside lip. The Coral & Bronze color scheme is described in Una des Fontaines definitive book on Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre as the “simplest yet most startling in effect” and the “most striking color effect of all” Fairyland patterns (pgs. 97 and 202-203). Marked on the underside with Portland vase mark, “Wedgwood”, “Made in England” and “Z5406”. SIZE: 8” dia. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-61251 (3,000-4,000)
