CABINET CARD OF GERONIMO. This extremely popular image of Geronimo decked out in a headdress, fringed buckskins & brandishing a Dance revolver is laid down on a 5-1/2” x 7” board stamped in the lower margin “IRWIN, CHICKASHA, IND. TER.” This was a professional studio photograph by Irwin of the famed Apache Indian chief, one of the most illusive of all. He fought against the whites, was captured by General Cook, eventually escaped & finally surrendered to General Miles. Size of image alone is approximately 3-7/8” x 5-3/8”. CONDITION: Some light foxing. Small piece of image scratched off by his shoulder & a small pinhole at top center of margin. 4-57674 (3,000-5,000)
