DUTCH FLINTLOCK MUSKET.

DUTCH FLINTLOCK MUSKET. NSN. Cal. about 79. 46” rnd bbl. Marked “PROVENSIE : UTRECHT Arrow” on top of bbl with crowned monogram. There is a marking on the heavy beveled lockplate, but it is not readable. Mountings are brass with a heavy beveled edge on the counterplate. Rear sling swivel has been removed from the trigger guard. Initials “JN” are carved on the left side of the stock. Lock has a replaced hammer and screw. It does not fit the repaired cavity. Stock has raised carving around bbl tang, lockplate, and counterplate. Incised carving around the forearm. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina overall with light to moderate pitting. Fittings all have a medium dark patina. A hole in the trigger guard has been plugged. Stock has numerous repairs along the forearm and around the lock. 4-58261 FS7 (2,000-3,000)
