EADWEARD MUYBRIDGE (American, 1830-1904) “DESCENDING INCLINE 20 LB BASKET ON HEAD-HANDS RAISED-NUDE FEMALE”. Rare gelatin negative has three rows of twelve images depicting the progression of a nude woman holding a basket on her head with both hands and walking down an angled ramp. The top row shows the side view. The middle row the front view, while the bottom row shows the model from a back angle. The negative is marked “Copyrighted 1887, by Eadweard Muybridge”, and in right hand corner hand numbered “911”. Contained in a period heavy paper envelope which has title and number “9.911” handwritten. SIZE: 12-3/4” x 20”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-73316 (1,000-2,000)
