RARE PORTER REVOLVING RIFLE. Cal. 50. SN 362 except 349 on the cylinder. 28″ oct. bbl marked “ADDRESS / P.W. PORTER / NEW- YORK / P.W. PORTER’S / PATENT. / 1851.” on the upper right flat of the bbl. The stories of Porter being killed while demonstrating his rifle to Samuel Colt is fiction. The rear sight, cylinder cover and screw are missing. CONDITION: Blue/brown patina overall with scattered spots of light pitting. Wood has minor handling marks.
