RARE GALLE MARQUETRY VASE. An exceptionally outstanding Galle internally decorated marquetry sur verre cameo glass vase. Ovoid form raised on a cushion foot. The foot is connected to vase body with freeform three-pronged connector which is decorated with wheel carved martele finish. The sunset background glass internally streaked with russet, sienna, and green shading to deeper green. This background is decorated in marquetry sur verre with a pattern of up-right crocus blossoms and foliage in vibrant purples, pinks, burgundy, and yellow. Signed on the side with engraved stylized signature “Galle”. SIZE: 13-7/8” t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-70585 (60,000-80,000)
