MODEL 1860 STAFF & FIELD OFFICER’S SWORD. Blade and scabbard marked “AMES MFG CO CHICOPEE MASS”. Sharkskin grip with twisted wire. Guard decorated with an eagle over six flags, folding langet is plain. CONDITION: Diamond shaped blade is near frosty mint. Brass scabbard has raised relief mounts and is etched with foliate decoration and patriotic shield between drag and middle mount. A panel for presentation is empty and is engraved between the top two mounts. 4-49034 JS51 (1,000-1,500)
