FRAMED REMINGTON UMC ADVERTISING POSTER OR CALENDAR TOP TITLED “A CHANCEY SHOT”. Famous image of two hunters on a snowy mountain peak with one of the hunters laying over the crest watching a Dahl sheep while the other hunter is passing a Remington Model 14 pump action rifle all set in a rugged mountain scene. Image is 17″ wide x 25″ high and is signed “H.C. Edwards” with the date of “12”,.apparently 1912. This picture was part of the February 14 – May 16, 2004 “THE ART OF AMERICAN ARMS MAKERS” at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK and is from the well-known Jack Malloy Collection. It is archive mounted and matted in a wonderful beaded edged oak frame with cream colored mat. Harry C. Edwards (1868-1922) was U.S. born & an educated illustrator who painted big game & western style works of art. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Colors are vivid & bright with sharp image with only a few small creases & a small damage in the lower left corner. A fine decorative early print. 4-57186 JR728 (1,000-2,000)
