RARE MARITIMES CANVAS RUG. Wonderful folky canvas rug painted with an old three-mast sailing ship. Probably from Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island. These canvas rugs were frequently done by sailors as decoration for the floors of their homes. Because of the manner by which they were used, they are rather scarce and hard to come by. This one is a wonderful folky representation and the ship itself and water. Housed in a dark green frame, probably late 19th Century, possibly early 20th Century. SIZE: 41” w x 29 1/2”h.
