SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1873 TRAPDOOR RIFLE. SN 46504. Cal. 45/70. 32-5/8” rnd bbl. Early marks on lockplate and trapdoor. The cartouche is partially visible but not readable. There are issue marks “53 / 29 / SFC” on the comb of the stock and “G. 8th 54.” painted on the left side of the stock. This has the step rear sight and the long wrist stock. CONDITION: 50% blue on the bbl mixed with surface rust and light pitting. Traces of blue elsewhere. Mostly brown patina with light pitting. Stock has some dents and scratches.
