RARE WINCHESTER DELUXE LOW WALL RIFLE. Cal. 25 WCF (25-20). SN 57373. Beautiful little dlx rifle with 28″ oct to rnd #1 bbl with ivory bead hunting front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, missing the elevator & a mid-range Vernier tang sight. Wood is spectacular 3-4x flame grain center crotch cut American walnut with black insert semi-Schnable tip checkered forearm & sculpted black insert pistol grip stock with crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl retains 93-95% strong orig blue with scattered spots of light surface rust. Receiver retains about 75% fading case colors, strong in the sheltered areas. Lever retains traces of case colors and the hammer about 95% colors. Buttstock has a couple of light grain checks, otherwise the wood is sound & retains most of its bright orig finish. Entire rifle, including the wood, has a heavy coating of old dried oil. Mechanics are crisp, strong bright bore, worn in front of the chamber. Pierre Renaud Collection 4-55655 JR253 (5,000-8,000)
