SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1873 TRAPDOOR RIFLE. SN 99744. Cal. 45/70. 32-5/8” rnd bbl. Late variety with low arch breechblock, ski jump rear sight. “ESA / 1878” cartouche. CONDITION: 85% blue with heavy bayonet wear at the front of the bbl and considerable scratching at the center. Breechblock has about 70% bright casehardening colors. Breech plug has about 90%. Tang has about 90% of casehardening colors. Lockplate has about 40% blue with traces on the hammer and trigger guard. Stock has normal dents and scratches.
