LOUIS XV STYLE ORMOLU AND BOULE SHELF CLOCK. Second half of the 19th Century. The bombe case inlaid overall with brass filigree and tortoise shell applied with cast brass foliate scrolling, a cartouche within the door, and a floral filled urn finial. The brass movement marked “Japy Freres Medaille Grande d’Honneur 1855”. The cast-brass base with a chapter-ring of white enamel cartouches, each marked with an indigo Roman Numeral, centering a time and strike aperture over a glass panel revealing a sunburst pendulum, the whole raised on cast brass foliate sabots. Clock is sold with bell, winder and pendulum. SIZE: 13-1/2″ h x 8″ w overall x 4-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Brass movement most likely in need of cleaning and adjustment, hairline crack lower left of glass panel, Boule-work intact and in very good condition overall.
