PAIR OF CINNABAR COVERED JARS. Chinese, late 19th/early 20th century. Nice examples with deep carving in relief of a gathering of sages in a mountainous forest landscape. Each fitted with conforming lid with a flower bud knop finial. Base applied with old paper label with 6-figure character mark identifying the jar as “Ch’ing Dynasty, Kuang-hsu, circa 1874-1876”. SIZE: 11-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Overall very good. Showing wear to copper surfaces on top rim and to corresponding rim on lid. 9-24769 (2,000-3,000)
