WILLIAM LESTER STEVENS (American, 1888-1969) “THE MELTING SNOWS”. Oil on board spring scene shows a cascading stream over rocks in a springtime thaw. Patches of snow remain on the forest floor. Signed in red lower left “W. Lester Stevens” and titled on back in pencil. Housed in a decorated wood molded frame with linen lining. SIZE: 23-1/2” x 29-1/2”. CONDITION: Bottom right area has inpainting, some bleeding to signature, varnish discoloration. Otherwise very good. 9-70143 (3,000-5,000)
