*COLT PRE-WAR/POST WAR SGL ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Spcl. SN 357675. Wonderful Sgl Action (one of only about 300 made in the period 1947 into the 1960’s using pre-war parts). It has 5-1/2″ bbl, blue & case colored with matching numbered rampant Colt hard rubber grips. It has late pre-War II bbl markings with 2-line patent markings and the serial number on the front & back straps on the right side under the grip. Accompanied by two Colt factory letters fully identifying this revolver as having been shipped March 8, 1956 to Joseph A. Lorch of Washington, D.C. in a shipment of two such guns. Older letter has a hand written note “One of 82 made 1940”. Most recent letter indicates that it was made March 29, 1948 but not shipped until 1956. CONDITION: Exceedingly fine, as new. Appears to be unfired, retains virtually all of its brilliant orig factory finish with only faint muzzle edge wear and the hint of a cylinder line. Grips are crisp with almost no wear.
