WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). SN 68585. Standard grade 2nd model rifle with 24-1/4″ rnd bbl, full magazine, half nickel front sight & flat top rear sight. Dust cover rail is attached with screws. Wood is straight grain American walnut with straight grip & crescent buttplate without trap. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl & magazine tube retain about 90% strong orig blue turning plum on the magazine tube with some browning on the bbl. Bbl has a couple of small dings on top. Receiver retains about 75% orig blue turning plum with a worn area on the top rear of the receiver. Wood is sound with usual handling & use marks & dings and has a nice hand rubbed patina. Entire rifle has a heavy coating of old dried oil or wax. Mechanics are fine, very bright shiny bore. Pierre Renaud Collection 4-55644 JR246 (2,000-3,500)
