WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 428332. Standard carbine with 20″ rnd bbl, full magazine, square base front sight and “1873” marked ladder rear sight. Receiver has a staple & ring in the left side. Wood is nicely figured American walnut with straight stock & carbine butt with trap that contains an orig 3-pc, brass & iron, wiping rod. CONDITION: Fine plus. Appears to be mostly a plum/brown patina over all the metal under an extremely heavy coating of old dried oil. Bbl has a spot or two of light rust. Wood is sound and shows moderate wear, retaining a fine old patina under a coating of old dried oil. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with light to moderate pitting.
