WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 175734. Standard grade rifle with 24-1/4″ oct bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight & semi-buckhorn rear sight missing the elevator. It has nicely figured American walnut wood with straight stock & crescent buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl & magazine tube retain about 95% strong bright orig blue. Forend cap retains 96-97% strong blue. Receiver retains 93-95% strong orig blue beginning to turn plum. Lever retains about 75% faded case colors & the hammer about 95%. Wood is sound and retains about 90% orig varnish. Entire rifle is covered with a coating of old dried oil or wax. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with a spot or two of light pitting.
