MALAYER RUG, WEST PERSIA. 2nd quarter 20th Century. Woven in a Sarouk pattern with thick pile and soft pastel colors. The poled floral central medallion in shades of beige and blue framed by spandrels of floral vinery in similar conforming colors, on a rose-pink field with dense floral sprays. All within a beige and green main border, the guard borders of floral scrolling rosettes. SIZE: 10′ 5″ x 7′ 8″. CONDITION: The rug showing wear to the foundation at the quadrants at the inner edge of the spandrels. Otherwise good overall. 9-97422 (800-1,200)
