J.H. BELTER ROCOCO ROSEWOOD MARBLE TOP CENTER TABLE. This table attributed to the renowned J H Belter and was made around 1860. The oval Carrera marble top with serpentine “bull nose” edges fitted to the conforming frieze. It is profusely and ornately carved with floral sprays, raised on four floral-and-foliate carved cabriole legs joined by a carved serpentine “X” stretcher. In the center is an exquisite large carved finial in the form of a floral bouquet, the table rested on four wooden casters within brass fittings. SIZE: Approximately 44″ l. x 35-1/2″ w top; 29-1/2″ overall h. CONDITION: Marble all sound, table in original finish with nice chocolate brown patina. A couple of small repairs to leg junctures, otherwise very good. 9-97731 (15,000-25,000)
