VERY EARLY SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 REVOLVER. Cal. 44 American. SN 47. Blue finish with 6″ keyhole bbl, pinned half moon front sight and smooth stag grips. CONDITION: About good, all matching except the grips. Overall retains traces of orig finish in the very sheltered areas being mostly a mottled silver/brown patina with two or three spots of pitting on the bbl & scattered pitting on the cylinder. Cylinder stop is not functioning & hammer over-travels in the safety notch and must be held to the rear to open the latch, otherwise mechanics are fine. Grips are fine with a beautiful smooth old patina. Bore is dark & worn. 4-56419 JR389 (1,250-1,750)
