SMITH & WESSON 2ND MODEL AMERICAN REVOVLER. Cal. 44 Russian. SN 23316. Nickel finish, 8″ keyhole bbl with replacement copper blade front sight with 2-pc walnut grips that are possibly old replacements. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. All matching except the grips which are unnumbered. Overall retains 92-94% strong orig nickel with light muzzle & edge wear. Worn & flaked areas are turned to patina. Grips show a nice hand rubbed patina and retain traces of varnish. Cylinder is a little loose and sometimes will not lock at full cock. Otherwise mechanics are fine. A couple of the screws are moderately battered. Strong bore with moderate to heavy pitting. 4-56417 JR382 (3,000-5,000)
