SMITH & WESSON 2ND MODEL AMERICAN SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 44 American. SN 17277. Nickel finish with 8″ keyhole bbl, half-moon front sight & smooth 2-pc walnut grips. Inside of the right grip is stamped with a matching serial number & has the pencil notation “J.B. CULP / 1912”. Right side of the grip frame has the assembly number “163”. CONDITION: Very fine, all matching. Overall retains about 92-93% strong orig nickel with some spotting on the bbl & thinning on the sideplate. Front strap is mostly cleaned bright metal. Hammer & trigger guard retain traces of orig case colors. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with some minor roughness near the forcing cone end.
